"First Confession" by Frank O'Connor (Ireland)

This story is about a boy who desnt confess something important and dies without saying it. So throughout the story he boy goes to church and confess but he dosent tell the priest one confession and from that day he feels guilty. So later on the story he says that he even tried to kill his own sister with a butter knife, So at the end when he dies he dosen say what he always wanted to say and goes to hell.

The church I go to is pretty small and I am catholic. The activities we do is raise money for children and also we engage in not commiting sins if we do we have to confess oursoulfs if not we can go to hell. The church makes everthing look organized and stays focused. the churchs beliefs are that we should respect god and that if you do something bad you go to hell also that god created the world we live in.

"The Last Judgement" by karel capek (Czechoslovakia)

The last jugement was about this one guy that ends up killing a lot of poeple and in this story its about if he ethier is going to hell and or to heaven. So through out the whole story they keep talking about whether or not he should go to heaven or not. So then they reveal all the bad stuff he did and it said that he killed  lot of poeple. So then at the end they decide that he should go to hell because he killed a lot of poeple and most of them were inocent and well yea he was crazy. So i beilive thats why he goes to hell becuase he was crazy and killed a lot of poeple.

I believe that the consenquences of living bad life is that well obviously you would end up going to hell and another is that you will also suffer if you made others suffer during your life. My opinion is that its crazy on wat the guy did and that he also tried to kill his own sister which of course carries the same blood as him. I really dont beilive in karma because i mean if you live a good life ok if not then that was your choice. The reason they shoulnt be mean is becuase if you treat others bad would you like if they treat you the same way you treated them? Also becase later on in life you will pay the consenquences.

"Night" By Elie Weisel (Germany)

Night is about elie weisel and how he survived the holocaust. Elie was a fifteen year old jewish boy when the holocaust began. He wrote a book called, Night, which is a reaccounting of all his memories about the experience. One death camp that Elie started out at, Auschwicz, is a terrible death camp where you could be killed everyday, and in the end there was more than five MILLION jews who were killed at this camp alone. That is a lot. Through the experience, Elie lost all of his family and is thankful to be alive, but sees it nessecary to remember the holocaust, so it doesnt happen again.

What i will remember about the book are the specific parts that stand out more than others, like when he first gets to Auschwicz, when his dad dies, when they run from Buna. As for images, when they are moving mounds of dead bodies, that image will be there forever. This book of non fiction hasnt changed me in any way, it was just eye opening. The parts that i will remember forever are the saddest, most horrifying, most angering, most confusing, and most touching.

“The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World” by Gabriel

In the story “The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World,” the Columbian people cared about the people who they did not know. But there was one bad thing about them because the women were very crazy. They couldn’t see a very handsome guy because they were afraid they would say bad things about their husbands. If they saw a very handsome guy, they would compare that person to their husbands and they thought he would be better than any of their husbands, and they would consider their husbands worthless!

If I were to pass away I would like my family and friends to bury me outside my back yard. The reason I want to them to bury me outside my backyard is because it would be something different and i would also get to scare people in Halloween when I'm passed away. This type of funerals don't happen i think because I haven't been in one like that but it would be weird. Also in memory I would like them to cook some really good Mexican food and put in my tombstone. In the story, the Latin Americans really cared about people because when they passed away, their family always had good funerals for them.

Central Station (Brazil)

The relationship that josue and dora have is that they are becoming really good friends and that they are starting to become a small family like mother and son. The relationship with my parents is very good because I communicate good with them and I treat them like if they were my own friends too. In my opinion I think that family is important because that is the only and truthful thing you got in life and the poeple you could always trust no matter what. I think that family should always stick together because that way you can always have connection to them.

The movie was about this boy named josue and a woman named dora. In this movie dora tries to help out josue find his dad but then she does but she gets frustrated and tries harder. At the beggining she was mean and didnt want to help out but the reason she changed her mind was because his mom died.

"Borders" by Thomas King from Canada

The important thing to me is that I have to keep my culture strong and alive. I have to let other people know who I am and where I come from. Ethnicity is more important to me because I am a Latino. No matter where I live, I always celebrate my culture and tradition and I also have pride. So if I try acting like someone I am not I would always remember where I came from and change my attitude.

In the story "Borders", the Canadian guards didn't care about the Native American's culture. When the Native Americans went somewhere, the Canadian guards only asked if they were Canadian or American. They act like they don't know who the Native Americans are. If the Native American said that they were barefoot, the Canadian guards would ask a lot of questions and not let them pass. I believe that is bogus.

"No dogs bark" by Juan Rulfo

In the story "No Dog Bark", I learned that Mexico is awesome. In the past, many people had a very hard life because they didn't have many things such as food or medication. So each time one of them got hurt or injured one their family members had to carry them to a hospital or something to help them out. The problem is that it would take a long time and they would almost die. The same would go if they got sick or had an infection. So then because of the poor economy people got desperate becuase they didn't have much they strated to lie, steal and kill. They had poor relationgships because nobody would understand nobody. The cause of this made up gangs and too much violence and too many deaths among them.

If I become a  father, I would be a really good father to my children because I would give them whatever they want and I would spoil them rotten. I would be nice all the time and if they cause any type of trouble I would give them some pow pow. If they need money or help I would help them out because it is my responsibility and they are my children. I would not be a father like Igancio's father because my children would be my first priority and I would really love them with all my heart and I wouldn't let anything happen to them.

The book of Sand

In the story "The book of Sand", I learned that the Argentinian people who sold or bought bibles wanted to challenge themselves and find out about something that was very weird or extreme! It didn't matter how weird it was, they would keep trying to figure it out. They kept doing it until they went crazy. !

The thing that are important to us poeple now days would be technology. The reason why technology is a big part today is because a lot of poeple use it and also because more and more things are created as we grow.

The youngest doll

The scariest movie ive seen would probably be paranormal activity. i think the movie was scary because when i saw it the volume was high and when the pop ups came out it was super loud and scared me. The things that horror movies have in comon is that they put scary type of music and also that they be very silent and then bam!

The youngest doll was about this one woman making dolls. Sh ebe making dolls for her nieces the reason she stareted making dolls was because she got bitten by a prawn and then she felt ugly. So in the story she goes to docter and the docter says she is ok. Later on in the story she starts feeling weird and she finds out she has the prawn living inside her. So then her niece gets married and she makes her a last doll. her husband then later on sells partr of the doll to make money out of it and her wife finds out she gets mad and runs away. One day her husband comes from work and finds out she is on the floor and checks her breathing bu notices its not her and prawns come out of her eyeballs.
